Building Greenville since 1958

Guess how many apartments, houses, buildings, bridges, roads, farms, arenas, golf courses and swimming pools here in the upstate contain our sand?

Over this many years, we can proudly say we have built Greenville.

HISTORY

It all started as a sawmill founded by Winthrop Franklin Thomas in 1936, initially named Wint Thomas. In 1958, the company shifted to dredging sand, with Wint’s three sons—Gary (Kenneth), Jack, and Billy Thomas—taking over management and rebranding as Thomas Sand Company. Ever since they took over, Kenneth, Jack, and Billy worked tirelessly, building up the dredging operations and pumping and hauling sand to meet growing demands. Their dedication and hard work were instrumental in the company's success.

Unfortunately, both Kenneth and Billy passed away, marking a significant turning point for the family business. Following their passing, it was up to Jack Thomas to lead the company alongside his two sons, Danny and Donnie, ensuring that the legacy of hard work and commitment to quality continued.

Tragically, Donnie also passed away, further impacting the family and the business. As a result, the company no longer dredges sand but continues to source its materials from the old sand plant. Since stopping dredging operations, the company has added new products to the yard in Greenville and strives to continue providing customers with quality products and service, upholding the standards established by the Thomas family.
